Volume Discounts

A price break is a volume discount or pronotion that lowers the unit price as the quantity increases. This encourages buyers to purchase larger quantities. It can be set by price to apply a fixed monetary discount or by percentage to reduce the total order value by a specific rate.

NOTE: This feature is only available to Business users. The discount applied most recently, whether a manual discount or a volume-based discount, will take priority over any previously applied discounts.

Add/Remove Price Breaks on a Product

  1. From the Products page, click the dropdown menu and select + Volume Discounts.
  2. A pop-up will appear where you can set volume discounts either as a fixed price or as a percentage of the base price.

    • Quantity - this is where you set the minimum number of items a customer must buy to receive the discount. For example, if you set it to "≥ 50," the discount will apply when a customer buys 50 or more items.
    • Discount - This is where you define the amount of the discount. It can either be a fixed price (e.g., $71.25) or a percentage (e.g., 10%) off the original price, depending on the quantity purchased.
  3. You can create another discount tier by selecting "+ Add another" and filling in the quantity and discount values. Make sure the quantity is entered in ascending order to ensure the discount applies correctly.
  4. You can tally the quantity for the volume discount either by product or by option. If you choose "Product", the quantity will be based on the total number of items without regard to their variations. If you choose "Option", the quantity will be calculated separately for each product variation.
  5. Click "Save" to apply the discounts. If you want to remove all discounts, click "Remove discounts" on the bottom left.

Enable Price Breaks on Presentation

To enable price breaks, select a presentation and turn on the Enable Volume Discounts toggle from the left-hand panel. The option is shown at a presentation level to allow you to decide whether you would like to offer discounts to some customers, but not others.

Applying Discount on Order Form

If volume discounts are enabled, they will also be displayed for each product on the order form. The applicable discount will be automatically applied to the price when the required quantities are reached. In the example below, the price has been discounted because the total quantity meets that of the baseline discount tier.
