Move a User from One Team to Another

Learn how to request moving a user between teams, what approvals Brandboom may require, and what changes if you only need to remove a user from your current team.

How-to

  • Only a Brandboom administrator can move a user between teams.

  • To request a transfer:

    • Please contact Support and provide the user’s login email.

    • Specify the team you want to move them to.

  • In most cases, we will need approval from:

    • The user being moved.

    • The owner of the “origin” team (the team the user is leaving).

    • The owner of the “destination” team (the team the user is joining), when applicable.

  • If you only want to remove a user from your team (without specifying a destination team), we only need approval from:

    • The owner of your team (the “origin” team).

Rules

What Moves With the User

  • Their team membership: the user leaves the origin team and joins the destination team (or a brand-new team of their own).

  • Their showroom access.

  • Their share links: the links keep working for buyers without interruption, and visits after the move are recorded on the destination team. The origin team will no longer see these links.

  • Their paid seat: the user keeps their paid access, still covered by the origin team.

  • Their orders and order tags, when requested.

  • Presentations: on request, individual presentations can either be moved to the destination team or shared so both teams can see them. Tags on those presentations move too.

What Stays With the Origin Team

  • Visitor history recorded before the move: past visits on the user's share links remain in the origin team's records, so the moved links start with a fresh visitor list on the destination team.

  • Presentations that are not explicitly moved or shared. The user will no longer see them after the move.

  • Note that when a presentation is moved, the origin team no longer sees it — sharing it instead keeps it visible to both teams.

  • Customers and customer tags.

  • Billing: subscriptions, invoices, and payment methods stay put, and the origin team continues to cover the user's seat until they remove the user from it.
