Promo Codes in the Order Summary
The Order Summary updates right away when a promo code is added or removed, or when the Order changes.
Promo Applied - The total discount from Percentage, Fixed Amount, and Buy X Get Y codes.
Discount - Your rep's own discount. It is entered separately and promo codes never change it.
Shipping Cost - The full shipping cost you set, before any promo.
Shipping Promo - What a Shipping promo takes off the shipping cost.
How Are Multiple Discounts Applied?
When an Order has several discounts, they are applied one after another:
Discounts on specific Products or Categories come first.
Discounts on the entire Order are applied to what's left.
Within each step, fixed amounts come off before percentages.
Your rep's Discount is applied last, to what remains after all promo codes.
A discount never takes a total below zero.
Why Didn't My Shipping Promo Change the Total?
A Shipping promo only applies while the Order uses the shipping method named on the promo. The code stays on the Order either way. When the Buyer chooses the matching method, the discount appears on the Shipping Promo row.
NOTE: On Showrooms connected to ApparelMagic, a Shipping promo may not apply to Orders synced to ApparelMagic. For those Orders, adjust the shipping cost manually.
Promo Codes on Invoices
The invoice totals list each code's share of the discount, in the same Promo Summary used on the Order. The invoice PDF prints a PROMO CODE {code} line for each code that took something off the invoice.
Promo Codes in Exports
Order and invoice exports include:
A Promo Codes column listing each code and its discount, for example "BB5OFF (78.00), FREESHIP (150.00)"
A Shipping Promo Discount column
The default Order Summary, Invoice Summary, and Order Details templates include these columns. You can also add them to your own export templates.
FAQs
1. Do Promo Codes Work With Price Tiers?
Yes. Promo codes work with every price tier. A code's minimums and amounts are read in the Order's own price tier and currency.
2. I Edited a Promo Code. Why Didn't My Existing Orders Change?
Each Order keeps the terms a code had when the code was applied. Later edits, archiving, or deleting the code do not change those Orders. To use the new terms, remove the code from the Order and apply it again.
