Add or Remove Promo Codes on an Order

Add or remove promo codes on an Order from the seller side, learn which permission is needed, and see how promo code changes are tracked in Order history.

Important: To add or remove promo codes on an Order, you need permission to edit prices. The same permission is needed to change the Order's Discount line.

How-to

Add a Promo Code to an Order

  1. Open the Order.

  2. Find the Add Promo Codes section in the Order form footer.

  3. Type the code in the Enter code field and click Apply.

The discount appears in the Order Summary right away. Brandboom checks the code's minimum, the Products it covers, and whether it can be combined with other codes. See How Buyers See and Apply Promo Codes.

Remove a Promo Code from an Order

Click the "x" button on the promo code. The Order Summary updates right away.

NOTE: Promo codes can be added or removed while the Order is open. Once the Order is placed, the codes are locked until you revise the Order.

Order History

Every time a promo code is added or removed, an entry is added to the Order history. It shows the code and who made the change: the Buyer, a seller, or the system. If a code is removed automatically because the Order no longer qualifies, the history entry gives the reason.

What Happens When I Move Products to a New Order?

When you use Move Products to create a new Order, the new Order starts with no promo codes. Add any codes that belong on it.

The original order is checked again. If a code no longer qualifies, it is removed, and the Move Products confirmation tells you which code came off and why.
